Missoula Bicycle Club (MBC) is a member-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 1976 to promote bicycling in Western Montana. Prior to our recent name change, we were known as Missoulians on Bicycles, Inc. (MOBI).
Welcome to our new website, launched on Feb. 1, 2019:
To prepare for the 2019 riding season and to honor our new club name we have migrated our website to NationBuilder, our new hosting service. MBC's new website will allow us to more effectively communicate with our members, and other interested individuals.
If you are a member, we can best serve you if you create an account on this website. With an account you will be able to view and update the information you have provided to us. You will have more direct control over what topics that we send you email about, and you can update your contact information when you are logged in. When you are logged in you will also be able to access special pages that are only visible to account holders.
You may also create an account even if you are not a member of MBC. But when you do join Missoula Bicycle Club, you can be more totally engaged with us, and participate on club rides. Click here to become a member of MBC.
Please note: First-time riders may be our guests on one free ride to try out the club before joining. The trip leader will collect your name and contact information. Non-riding club events like meetings, potlucks, picnics, and other non-riding events sponsored by MBC are open to the public.
You can create your account using any one of the three buttons Facebook, Twitter, or email, under the "Sign in with:" notice to the right. Then select your preferred method of signing in and follow the instructions to set up your account.
If you have questions or comments about our website use the "Contact Us" box at the bottom of the page and our webmaster, Bob Wachtel will get back to you.
We are now officially the Missoula Bicycle Club!
Members present at our Holiday Party & Potluck approved the name change on December 11, 2018.
Our old name? It was "Missoulians On Bicycles, Inc." (MOBI) from Dec. 1995 to Dec. 2018. MOBI, it's been good to know you...
Join now to get ready for the upcoming 2019 bicycling season. Eight months of cycling await us every year, typically March-October. Become a member of MBC.
MBC members met and unanimously approved amendments to our Bylaws on Jan 8, 2019.
You can view the Bylaws for the Missoula Bicycle Club here.
Our next Members Meeting and Board Meeting is on February 11, 2019, featuring long-time member Julie Huck.
Julie will speak to our group about how and when to use Snail Mail (USPS), (a.k.a. "Direct Mail"), to promote club rides and events. Huck has headed up Adventure Cycling Association's Membership and Development Department now for decades, and founded "The Dirt Girls," an informal group of riders and hikers that go on challenging weekly local trips. She is a long-time dedicated rider, having toured widely, and commutes to work by bike. Julie is one of the bike club's biggest advocates and has served the club in many capacities, including President. She has been invaluable in helping the club re-establish itself.
Bob Wachtel, our webmaster, will also be on hand to demonstrate a short exploration of our new website.
Then we will put our heads together and work on the trips schedule, followed by a meeting of the Board of Directors.
Both the Members' Meeting and the Board Meeting will be held in Adventure Cycling Association's conference room, at 150 E. Pine St., in downtown Missoula. Some parking is available behind the building. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Conference room door (at west end of building just off the sidewalk) will be open at 5:30 P.M. Meeting starts at 6:00 P.M.
Please join us! Members' Meetings and Board Meetings are open to the public. Click here to let us know that you plan to attend.
