Propose a bike ride

Please use the "Make a ride proposal" area below to describe the ride you are proposing. Please read the Ride Leader Guidelines if you are interested in leading a ride. The "Make a ride proposal" area may be expanded by dragging the bottom right hand corner down.

Please submit your ride proposal at least 7 days prior to the ride.

Your announcement must include – Ride name, date and start time, miles, pace, gathering place, social event (restaurant, coffee shop), leader's name & contact info: mobile phone number and email address. If you have photos of the ride area or previous rides on this route that you would like to share, please let us know and we will let you know where to send them. Please use the following format as closely as possible. You can copy and paste the bulleted list to the response area.

    Saturday, September 14, 10:00 AM – Florence Pie Ride (40 miles). Meet at McCormick Park in Missoula. Ride the Bitterroot Trail to Florence and a stop at Glen’s Cafe, return on the same route.

    Ronan to Polson and return on paved trails, paved back roads, city streets @ Polson.


    Ride Description


    Gathering Place: 8:30 AM Parking Lot north of the Town Pump on Grant Creek Road [just north of I-90/Reserve Street Interchange]. Drive 53 miles to Ronan via I-90, US 93 to Ronan High School 3rd Ave NW, parking lot, NW corner. Option: Meet at the Ronan HS, but please let us know your plans.


    Ride Start: 10:00 AM


    Ride Description: Ronan to Polson via Round Butte Road, Back Road, Eli Gap Road, Valley View Road, Kerr Dam Road. Return to Ronan via Trail [trail parallels US 93]. Approx. 42 miles. Very scenic, paved roads and trails, great views of the Mission Mountains and Flathead Lake. A few hills, but nothing too serious.


    Pace: Moderate


    Lunch break at Polson. Several choices including Fiesta en Jalisco, Subway or picnic on the waterfront at Sacajawea Park. Allow about six hours to complete this trip.

    Miller Creek Road Loop (25 mi.) – Gather at the Missoula Chamber of Commerce building (825 E. Front St., adjacent to Eastgate Shopping Center) at 9 am on Saturday July 13 to bike the Milwaukee and Bitterroot Trails to Miller Creek Road. We will ride the Upper road outbound and Lower road inbound. Bring a roadside snack – we may also stop at the Big Dipper (631 S. Higgins) on our return for a cone, soon after they open at 11 am.. Slow-moderate pace, 11-13 mph.. NOTE – there is about 2 miles gravel on the Lower road..

    Saturday, May 18, 2019, 9:30 AM, Turah Ride (25 mi.). Meet at Eastgate Shopping Center [NW corner] and ride a combination of streets, Hwy MT 200, frontage roads, and paved paths. On the return, a side trip to the new Milltown State Park is planned for a rest stop, snacks, etc.. No restaurant stop planned so bring your own snacks.     Sunday May 26 2019: Frenchtown/Big Flat Loop Ride (42 mi.) – Meet at Westside Park, adjacent to Lowell Elementary School (1200 Sherwood St., Missoula) at 9:00 am to ride to Frenchtown via the North Side. We will witness the progress on the new Frenchtown Frontage Road bike path, then stop for a “Dutch Brunch” at Gammy’s Cafe. Return via Mullan Road, Kona Bridge, Big Flat, Blue Mountain Road and the Bitterroot Trail. Pace: slowly moderate (11-13 mph, wind permitting). Jack Scholl, (269) 343-6320, jack.scholl@gmail.com.
