Post event report:

There were only two participants in this year's Deer Creek Sneak, which took place on a 40-degree-ish, partly cloudy Saturday.  Leader Jack Scholl and Club President Carl Ammons varied from the Pre-ride information by biking in the Opposite Direction from the normal route.  Carl's comments on the ride follow:

"Yesterday's ride up the Deer Creek Sneak, I felt 'under the weather' from the start and the gooey mud had Jack and I looking for firmer surfaces for the uphill up Deer Creek. We made it, encouraging each other all the way to the top! Pattee Canyon was a blast but super cold wind chill. 22 degrees F with significant wind chill in places, average was 30mph on my MTB.   Thanks." 

Pre-ride information:

Loosen up your winter-creaky bones with a trip around Mount Sentinel and University Mountain. Meet at Great Harvest Bread Co., 1407 S. Higgins, Missoula for the circle trip south on Higgins then up Pattee Canyon Rd. (paved) and around Mt. Sentinel and University Mountain. We’ll stop at the Pattee Canyon Picnic area for a bring-your-own snack. Return via Deer Creek road (gravel) and the Kim Williams Trail.
