Post event report:

I can only say that the weather did not cooperate soon enough on this early season ride day. As I write this afternoon report with a brilliant blue sky and lots of sunshine, the 1 PM weather was still chilly and very thick fog. While there were 4 RSVPs submitted besides myself, all 4 canceled sometime prior to the 1 PM start time.

I did show up at the starting location in case anyone made a last minute decision to join me. Since no one appeared by 1:00, I proceeded to make it a short solo ride to the Peak at Blue Mountain Rd and return. Being my first significant ride of 2024 it was short and not very fast. Hopefully we will have better weather for our future 2024 riding season.

Pre-ride information:

Happy end of January with a forecasted warming trend. Pump up those tires and get ready to loosen up your legs. Let's meet at the junction of Mary Avenue and the Bitterroot Trail for a ride south. As this will be the first official MBC ride for 2024 we may not have a specific distance decided. I will lead to the bench overlook of the Bitterroot River as a minimum. Others may proceed further if desired. During the gathering time you will be asked to sign a one time liability release form that will be in effect for the 2024 season. We will also be taking attendance to maintain our records of riders. This ride will take place on the paved Bitterroot Trail.
