Post ride report:
2 riders challenged the elements on this cool and windy afternoon for a supposedly quick and challenging ride around our frequent Fort Loop ride. We gathered at Silver Park at 1:30 PM traveling down the Bitterroot Trail to Post Siding Rd and all went well pedaling against a 10 to 15 mph west wind until shortly before arriving at Fort Missoula a rider noticed unusual shifting at the chain ring shifter. After stopping at the Fort Pavilion an investigation revealed a partially broken shift cable. Most of the component strands and been severed at the connection at the derailleur. Fortunately the leader had a spare shift cable in his trunk and the cable was replaced. Continuing the ride to Clements Rd and north to 7th Street went well. And the eastern leg was much more pleasant with a consistent tail wind.

Pre-ride information
Continuing our spring into summer riding season on Tuesday 5/20. Gather with other enthusiastic riders for a gentle social and conditioning ride. As of the latest updated posting date, 5/20/25, the current forecast indicates a high of 57 with 12 mph West winds. The route has been decided as our Fort Loop with possible extensions most likely be on paved trails, roads, and possible limited gravel as a continuing moderate condition improvement ride so we can all enjoy longer and more challenging rides as the seasons progress. Be sure to dress appropriately for your riding comfort and safety. Visit this page in the future for further details.
Depending on weather we may begin our morning rides, watch for the change in start times. I would appreciate any suggestions as to starting times for mornings
