Post ride report:
7 riders met at Bella Vista Pavilion, Fort Missoula Regional Park to enjoy this warm morning for an out and back ride up O'Brien Creek Rd. See the map below as ridden on Tuesday 7/16. The ride was very pleasant with the temperature comfortably cool to begin, giving us some beneficial cooling for the frequent short uphill climbs to reach our maximum total climb of 591 feet.

Pre-ride information
Take a sojourn up to the mountain meadow on O’Brien Creek. Meet at the Bella Vista Pavilion in the west portion of Fort Missoula Regional Park for an up-and-back ride, partly paved and partly easy single-track gravel/dirt. We’ll stop at the halfway point for a bring-your-own snack.
Having taken a route check ride on Saturday 7/13, I have a couple of additional comments about this ride. Given the gravel section and the single track section I would strongly recommend a gravel or mountain bike for this ride. I would also recommend light weight long slacks for those who will be riding the single track portion of the ride beyond the closed gate due to thistles and other vegetation along the single track. While this ride is targeted towards UM Retirees, it is open to all MBC members. Please remember that this will be a slow to moderate pace.
