Post ride report:
4 riders met at the Missoula Armed Forces Reserve Center parking lot to enjoy this moderately challenging ride up O'Keefe Creek Rd. and beyond to Frenchtown Pond State Park and return to the gathering location. 3 riders riding road bikes and 1 rider on a gravel bike. Please see the map below. All riders were challenged on the steeper up grades but all enjoyed the refreshing ride down the other side. After a short stop at the Frenchtown Pond State Park we proceeded into Frenchtown and found a food replenishment at the Conoco station before continuing on to our original gathering location.

Pre-ride information
Continuing our summer riding season on Saturday, 9/13, welcome to late summer. Gather with other enthusiastic riders at 10:00 AM for a somewhat more challenging social ride beginning at the Missoula Armed Forces Reserve Center parking lot at 9383 Running W Road. As of the latest updated posting date, 9/7/25, the long range forecast is for an afternoon high of 75. Heat should not be an issue for this ride. Be sure to dress appropriately and bring enough water for your riding comfort and safety.
This will be a casual ride from the Reserve Center north on Hwy 93 to O'Keefe Creek Blvd., then west climbing to Fire Bucket Loop, then downhill to Tookie Trek Rd., continuing to Waldo Rd. where we pick up the paved trail along side Waldo Rd., which becomes Frenchtown Frontage Rd. to Frenchtown Pond State Park for a short break. Next continue on the Frenchtown Frontage Rd. to Houle Creek Rd where we turn south under the interstate I90 to Mullan Rd. into Frenchtown for a possible no-host lunch stop. Continuing on Mullan Rd. south to Loiselle Ln. back to the Frenchtown Frontage Rd. which becomes Waldo Lane back to Hwy 93 and the return to the gathering parking lot. We will have a ride leader at the front and co-leader at the back to allow for appropriate guidance. All participants will have an option regarding lunch. If you prefer to not lunch at Gammy's Cafe please notify the ride leader while stopping in Frenchtown.
Please watch for late notification of cancellation. Any cancellation/postponement of morning rides will be posted here and a cancellation email will be sent out not later than 4:00 PM on Friday the afternoon before the ride, to all who have RSVP'd.
